Making Promises I Can't Keep
Okay, so I promised yesterday to keep it civil with the J.A. But I did want to note, that the wikipedia photo “controversy”, noted by Denton’s boys at Gawker, has been resolved.
The main image has been changed to a J. Allison approved photo, left, in her peculiar style (right profile, over the shoulder, pursed lips), while a photo that appears to be from the same day as the previous wikipedia photo, right, also appears below it on the entry.
No comment yet on Julia Allison’s blog whether this was an acceptable compromise. There has been some disagreement on the wiki:talk page. One apparent defender of her request to change the picture opines:
The people on Wikipedia who hate successful, attractive women will always find a wiki-reason or wiki-rule for what they do, and there’s enough of them, editors and admins, to make sure they get their way. Be careful or they’ll ban you.
See? I got through this without any snark. That, people, is progress.
